Exhibition updates: ICA San José, Berkeley Cube Space, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Edge on the Square, and new podcasts
Here’s a round up of current and upcoming projects:
I’m currently in the process of installing my solo exhibition, The last muffled breaths of the undead masculine, at the Berkeley Cube Space, the Berkeley Civic Arts Commission’s storefront gallery in Downtown Berkeley on Addison Street between Milvia and Shattuck. The exhibition will be on view April 15 – June 14, 2024.
Related Tactics (Michele Carlson, Weston Teruya, & Nate Watson) is exhibiting Who Else But Americans at the ICA San José as part of P L A C E: Reckonings by Asian American Artists, co-presented with Montalvo Arts Center, and curated by Judy Koong Dennis and Zoë Latzer. The exhibition runs March 23, 2024 – August 11, 2024. Exhibiting artists are: Christy Chan, Phung Huynh, Adrienne Pao & Robin Lasser, Mail Order Brides/M.O.B. (Eliza O. Barrios, Reanne Estrada, and Jenifer K. Wofford), Ranu Mukherjee, Namita Paul, Related Tactics, Valerie Soe, Stephanie Syjuco, Christine Wong Yap, Bruce Yonemoto, and Wanxin Zhang.
Thanks to the amazing curator Sarah Darro, Related Tactics will be travelling Disclosure: The Whiteness of Glass to the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, May 25 – August 31, 2024!
We’re still in the early stages of developing the project, but Related Tactics is also collaborating with Mia Nakano of the Visibility Project for a new project that will be exhibited as part of the upcoming Walking Stories, which will be on view at Edge on the Square June 22 – December 2024.
And finally:
I recently completed a podcast interview series with the artists of Reflecting on Ruth Asawa and the Garden of Remembrance: Mark Baugh-Sasaki, Tina Kashiwagi, Paul Kitagaki, Jr, Lisa Solomon, and TT Takemoto. The exhibition, curated by Sharon Bliss & Kevin Chen, just completed its run at the San Francisco State University Fine Arts gallery, but the podcasts are still available to listen.
