Related Tactics: upcoming exhibitions at Southern Exposure and Mills College Art Museum (+ solo work)
Related Tactics has work in two upcoming exhibitions, both opening on September 14th in the Bay Area:
We just installed Who Else But Americans at the Mills College Art Museum, where it will be part of Reshaping the Narrative: California Perspectives (on view Sept 14th-Nov 24th). The rest of the exhibition is comprised of a lot of amazing work from the MCAM collection, including a number of pieces about immigration, labor organizing, and work by other artists of color, so this is an exciting context for the project.
Two drawings from MCAM’s collection that I created during my Art+Practice+Ideas residency at Mills will also be on view. This is the first time that they’ve been publicly exhibited and I’m excited to see them in the world again.
RT will also be part of A leaf a gourd a shell a net a bag a sling a sack a bottle a pot a box a container, Southern Exposure’s 50th anniversary exhibition (on view Sept 14th-Nov 16th). We’ll be exhibiting the iteration of Ready that we organized for exhibition at the Wexner Center for the Arts in 2021. The last exhibition took place during quarantine so we didn’t get the chance to see the work on view in person, so we’re looking forward to bringing the project to the West Coast for the first time.
