Related Tactics: 2021 residency with The Luminary (installation on view 7/26-8/25)
update: Our storefront installation “Who Else But Americans…” is now on view at The Luminary in St. Louis, July 26 – August 25. This iteration of the project shares a set of photographs that outlines our ongoing research tracing the path of the transcontinental railroad as a means of reflecting on histories of violence against people of color (Chinese migrants in this specific case) and the ways we are enlisted in the process of nation-building and settler colonialism.

Related Tactics (Michele Carlson, Weston Teruya, & Nate Watson) is excited that we are one of the seven artists/collectives/practitioners who have been selected to be in-residence with The Luminary in St. Louis. After deferring most in-person residencies due to COVID-19 restrictions over the last year, The Luminary is resuming its residency program with on-site and virtual engagements.
Through the support of The Luminary, we are embarking on a new project, “Who Else But Americans…” a photographic series that retraces the transcontinental railroad as a means of reflecting on the invisibility and erasure of people of color (Chinese migrants in this specific case), continuing violence against our communities, and the ways we are enlisted in the process of nation-building and settler colonialism. Our storefront installation of research-in-progess will be on view on site from July 26 to August 26. More info coming soon.
