Means of Exchange (South of Market) with Kearny Street Workshop and Kimberley Arteche
Over the course of the project, the lead artists Weston Teruya & Kimberley Arteche will facilitate and create a series of community artworks to be integrated into SOMA storefront businesses that highlight the history, knowledge, and trades of community members. The artists will be collaborating with staff from each of the businesses to create art projects designed to reflect the nature of their work, skills, or history within the neighborhood. The projects will be designed to best adapt to the business, its goals, and community, so may be object-based, interactive, events, performances, or more curatorial in nature. The project will culminate in a neighborhood walk that draws audiences to visit, engage with the work, and patronize the businesses.
